Introducing the first issue in the stunning new series, this fine 2 oz silver coin represents two goddesses of the Ancient world, Victoria and Nike. Along with incredible high relief design, the coin also includes selectively gilded details. Being housed in an elegant wooden collector’s box and accompanied with the certificate, this coin has a limited mintage of 500 pieces worldwide.
The obverse features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II circled with fine floral ornament. The inscriptions denote the name of the Queen, the face value, the country and year of issue.
The reverse side depicts Nike and Victoria profiles, standing back to back and holding their symbols: a gilded olive twig and a gilded laurel wreath. The reverse edges are encircled with the delicate ornaments. Inscriptions in the upper reverse part denote the names of the goddesses. Associated with triumph and success, both goddesses were highly worshipped in their cultures: Nike in Ancient Greece and Victoria in the Roman Empire.
