The Celts believed foxes were cunning creatures with a wily intelligence. Celts believed the fox to be a guide, and was honored for its wisdom.

- Reverse: Depicts a striking engraving of a full size fox. The design is made up of geometrical decorations over the fox, which is a Celtic form of art. Also included is the name of the coin and the series.
- Sovereign coin backed by the Chad government.
